Donations
Computers for Literacy Ministries will give all donated PCs to families, college students, and pastors. The machines will be used primarily for word processing and internet access. To make a donation, please follow these simple guidlines:
COMPUTERS: All computer donations must be at least Pentium II class or equivalent and must have a CPU clock speed of at least 300 MHz. Please do not send us your unwanted, 486 or older PCs. If you wish to donate Macintosh computers, please do not send anything older than Power Macintosh machines.
SOFTWARE: Please include all original software with all computer donations. Please include all documentation as well, including manuals, product keys, etc. Copies of Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or XP will be gladly accepted
MONITORS: Please limit donations of monitors to SVGA or better.
PRINTERS: Most printers will be acceptable; however, It is difficult to find ink replacements for dot matrix, heat transfer, and fixed type printers. Ink jet printers are preferable. Laser printers are acceptable as well; however, the toner cartridges are prohibitively priced, making these printers less desireable for home use. Laser printers will be passed along to needy Churches and ministries that may be better suited for that type of printer.
PARTS: 72 Pin EDO or FPM SIMMS, DIMMS of any sort, modems (56k only), network cards, video cards (PCI or AGP only) are acceptable. Please keep hard drive donations to at least two gigabytes.
